Allison & Stone | Wedding | Ballground, GA

The drive from my house to the venue was filled with beautiful rolling hills, fancy houses, and Georgia sunshine. It was an incredibly beautiful day, making me even more excited to see Allison and Stone once again. The bridal party were staying in the Wheeler Cottages. Cozy little buildings that were set right off the road with a pleasantly wooded area behind, a perfect place for a bridal party to get ready. The guys were in one cottage, girls in the other. The girls laughed and smiled as they reminisced about how they had each met the bride, and we had even more fun taking a few photos in their matching robes. The guys, were surprisingly quiet as they got ready next door.

After everyone was prepared, we headed to the venue. You really can’t miss the Wheeler house, it’s colonial architecture is accented by beautiful wrap around porches and the fresh white paint makes it stand out against the tall trees standing over it. The barn where the ceremony took place was exceptionally beautiful, the only way I could describe it would be freshly built rustic charm, the great blue sky framed it perfectly. Family, friends, and staff were all hard at work getting all the details just right for the big day. Before the ceremony the bride spent her time upstairs getting ready and the groomsmen camped out in the barn until it was time for photos. This is where we got really creative to take a couple of group photos before the ceremony. We put the ladies on the top porch of the house and the guys on the bottom so that Allison and Stone could not see each other. Even with no way to see each other, I am sure they could feel the immense love and anticipation through the floorboards of that porch.

There was not a dry eye, or a face not smiling during the ceremony as the groom started crying before they even opened the door. I managed to get the perfect shot of Stone’s mother seeing her son’s happy face as his beautiful bride walked towards him. Allison was absolutely majestic, her veil was nearly 9 feet long, her hair was wavy with a single braid. Her rose gold jewelry not only matched her engagement ring, but also most of the details throughout the reception space. A very nice touch, I might add. The whole bridal party was smiling and tearing up as she descended down the aisle with her dad, with a great big smile across her face. Stone wiped away a tear as he watched his bride give her father a kiss and take her place beside him.

A shimmering chandelier hung above them as they laughed, cried, prayed, and then said ‘I do’, announcing to the world their first memory as husband and wife.

More group and family photos were taken and with Stone assisting me, we got the perfect veil shot for Allison. I made sure to leave one with him not edited out for the memory! The sun was in the perfect place for the bride and groom shots and that veil… oh that veil, glowed in the sun so marvelously. I could not have asked for a better setting. The love was so apparent with these two as they whispered sweet nothings while I captured the first moments of them as married couple.

The night continued with dancing, speeches, cake, more dancing, and sparklers. Oh, and an epic group serenade of Bohemian Rhapsody. So epic. It was the perfect way to end the perfect day.

Special thanks to all who made this day possible and beautiful for the amazing couple!
