Another beautiful day spent in Savannah to capture this amazing wedding. The maroon dresses and the blue suits were just perfect for this fall day. Please scroll all the way to the end to appreciate every detail (even a little frog friend who came out after the little pre-ceremony rain shower!) Special thanks to the vendors who came together to make this day special for the bride and groom. Ceremony Venue: The Barn at Red Gate, Savannah, Ga

A fun, loving couple, incredible venues, trolley rides, LOTS of dancing (including a one of a kind napkin dance to It's Raining Men) and lots of family and friends who came together to celebrate Maura and Drew on their special day. They didn't let a little rain ruin their spirits either. We were able to find a location literally across the street from the reception venue to get some great photos out of the rain where I almost fell backwards into a fountain and we all had a gr
We met in my favorite coffee shop in Savannah (Blends) and without a definite plan, we set out among the streets of Savannah looking for things that inspired us! This black and white awning caught my eye because it played off her jumpsuit and the yellow wall was an added bonus so we started there. We enjoyed all the beauty Savannah has to offer including magnificent oak trees, architecture varying in color and style, ivy covered walls (where Tommy got pooped on by a bird ), a
When I showed up to Red Gate that morning and saw the staff preparing the venue for a rainy day, I got back and my car and headed to the nearest Target and got a clear umbrella. I knew that if it was going to be raining all day, I was going to make it work! Yes, it rained ALL day, but man, I have no words for how incredible this entire day was. Not only did the bride and groom get out in the rain for some romantic shots, but the entire wedding party roughed it in the rain as
One thing about being a photographer is always having images you can look back on from your past. That's the point of photographs right? As I was doing some organizing tonight, I came across this session and was absolutely appalled by the fact that I never published it. So, 7 months later, here is Whitney. This beautiful lady was a vision in the sunshine for her bridal session as well as a stunner in the rain on their wedding day. Maybe I will post that someday as well! Serio
When we arrived at Red Gate, it was a little chilly and a lot cloudy, but we were so ready for this session. These two were so much fun and he had us both laughing!! Slowly the clouds moved away and when that sun hit, it was magical. Cannot wait to see these two again in December for their wedding. #SavannahsvenueatRedGate #Spring #Engagementsession #Savannah
It wasn't spring on the calendar quite yet, but the city of Savannah was beautiful with color for this February engagement session. These two were so much fun and I didn't have to coach them for poses at all because they were so natural! I cannot wait to work with them on their wedding day this fall! #GeorgiaPhotographer #SDPhotographs #Engagementsession #Savannah #TheOldePinkHouse #Spring
Top reasons I love having early morning sessions in Savannah: 1) Typically it is not too hot 2) The foot traffic is scarce 3) and THAT LIGHT is absolutely perfect. Jessica and Nick chose to have their engagement session in the middle of Savannah at the beautiful Forsyth Park. I have photographed here many times, and each time I find a new beautiful place for each couple. For this amazing couple, it was a row of pink crepe myrtles. I knew it was the time of year for them to be
Annie and Erik are getting married at Red Gate in the fall, and I am absolutely in love with the photos from their Spring engagement session. The plan was to meet at Forsyth park and then go to River street for some shots with the history there, however, when we met, we decided to stay in the park so we didn't have to do much traveling. This worked out so well! After we got a few shots with the iconic oak trees and moss, we headed on an "adventure" to find other place to take
In January, I was at Savannah's Venue at Red Gate for an engagement session. It was probably about 20 degrees and the wind was so hard, if I weighed any less it might have knocked me down. I had some time to kill, so I was hiding out in the office where there was a heater, when there was a knock at the door. The manager was no where to be seen so I opened the door and let them in out of the cold. Allyson and Samuel were there for a tour of the venue, and Trish (the awesome ma
I would like to start the blog by saying that this past Friday was a little crazy. Friday evening was the Statesboro wedding expo and I had a booth. I started my day by frantically running around making sure I had everything ready. The night before I had stayed up making little favors for the brides as well as making sure I had easels for every print and frames for the unmounted prints. I was soooo excited and I went all out. Oh yeah, I also made brownies. Yum.
Set up start
For this engagement session, because of all the crazy Valentine's weekend madness and traffic in Savannah, we got started right as the sun was disappearing. Needless to say, we had to get creative. Normally I like to take a little time before the session to talk to the couple and get warmed up so that they are comfortable and not tense in front of the camera. I really wanted to get a couple of sunset photos in, so this time we jumped right in. You will see, (Because it was to
